How Shift Studio works

Log your receipt

Choose Day Shift or Night Shift and Dining, Lounge, or Patio. Enter your total tips, cash taken home, and total tippable sales from the cashout slip.

Get the actual payout

E-transfer = total tips − cash taken home − kitchen (sales × %) − bartender (sales × %) − card processing (tips × %), plus any adjustments. Cash taken home + e-transfer + unreported extra cash tips = tips kept.

Know your real rate

Hourly rate = (gross hourly wages + cash + e-transfer + any extra cash tips) ÷ hours worked. The calculation is before income tax and payroll deductions.

Track your best shifts

Compare your weekdays, day vs. night, and Dining vs. Lounge vs. Patio. Previous app versions' shifts remain saved with their original formulas.

Back up your data

Your shifts are stored privately in this browser on this device. They do not automatically sync between devices. Export a JSON backup regularly.
